| Type of Lumber | Characteristics |
| Brown Decking | Pressure treated wood that looks like cedar. Much less corrosive to fasteners and metals than ACQ. |
| Pressure Treated | Green hue because of the chemicals used to preserve it, over time the colour fades to a silver look. Preservatives help protect the wood from attack by termites, other insects and fungal decay. Requires maintenance or sealing, paint or stain every 1-3 years. |
| Bluwood |
Factory applied, two-part wood coating system that resists uncontrolled moisture absorption, mould fungus growth, rot fungi and wood ingesting insects, like termites. Can be applied to virtually any type of wood that is used to build your home, is safe and environmentally friendly. |
| Composite | Wood/plastic and Capped Composite wood can be used around water including docks, marinas, pools, and spas. Customizable underdeck draining, lighting and fastener-free options. Low maintenance, sustainable, resistant to rot, doesn't warp, won't give people splinters, customizable, and doesn't need to be painted, stained or sealed |
